There is a reason the internet was invented… and here it is. I remember watching a handful of these scenes years ago when the project first started. I think I saw Kevin Smith in one of the first few scenes. starwarsuncut.com

Wow. This may end up way better than I even thought possible. Hit the jump to stream the newest trailer. I did watch the prologue over the weekend and I must agree with most critics, Bane is almost impossible to understand. — more

Prometheus Poster

The poster for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus just arrived. I love it, it hints at the original Alien poster just enough, but leaves whatever connection the two have a mystery. I have purposefully not read any stories about Prometheus. I know there may or may not be ties to the Space Jockey, and that there are vague Alien undertones, but that’s all know. Alien is untouchable in my mind, no sc-fi or horror movie even comes close. So if Ridlyy and the Prometheus team can even give us a whiff of that past success, I’ll be quite happy. hit the jump for the full look. — more

Trailer: Dark Horse

At first glance Todd Solondz’s new film Dark Horse doesn’t feel, aside from the cinematography, like a Todd Solondz film. Must be that air of optimism that pervades the first 60 seconds or so of the trailer. I detected enough cynicism and wit hidden under the sugary exterior to determine that the actual film will be substantially more dark and world weary than the trailer lets on. Hit the jump for the stream. — more

Brian K Vaughn tackles Stephen King’s ‘Under the Dome’

under-the-dome-1

on November 09, 2011

This is great news. Firstly because the novel has landed in the hands of the folks at Showtime, King’s work needs to be adapted at a cable network that takes risks. Watered down, made-for-regular-TV versions of his novels suck, sorry they just do. If you are a fan of King’s work, it’s as much about the visceral horror and fear as it is about the plot. His descriptions far outweigh your imagination in terms of depth and scare factor. To even come close, you have to tread pretty far into R-rated waters. Secondly, is of course, brilliant writer Brian K Vaughn. This could be really good. Hit the jump for a quick synopsis. — more

Trailer Park Thursday: 21 Jump Street, We Bought A Zoo & Underworld Awakening

I only really care to see one of these films — ’We Bought A Zoo.’ But I will admit the other two have piqued my interest. Does anyone under 30 even know what ’21 Jump Street’ is? Maybe… but only because it once starred Johnny Depp. I never watched it. It never appealed to me in the slightest. I was too busy wearing out the ribbon on my VHS copy of ‘Gleaming the Cube.’ Ron Swanson in a beard is pretty funny, but in the end there is no way this is good. Hit the jump to stream all three. — more

Beirut on Fallon

Beirut-1

on November 01, 2011

Last week, Beirut played a track off their album ‘The Rip Tide‘ on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. If you haven’t heard the new album yet, you must. It’s just as amalgamated and eccentric as the previous 2 albums. If you have a hankering for some eastern euro stylings with an electronic flair, you will not be disappointed. Hit the jump to watch them play ‘Santa Fe’. — more
