Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #1

on September 16, 2011

There is nothing, and I mean nothing worse, than being called home from a vacation on Mars to deal with a town full of rampaging monsters. Especially if your name is Frankenstein and you only get 1 week of vacation per year and no health benefits. The latter shouldn’t doesn’t pose too much of a problem because you’re already dead. — more

Green Lantern #1

First off, when I started this site I didn’t read comics regularly. I wanted to write about movies, music and other nerdy nothings, but hadn’t thought to do much else with the site. But when my good pal Spaceman came aboard to write about comics, it seemed a perfect fit for the site. I asked him for a few of his favorite books to read and I slowly started immersing myself in the comic world. Rikki then came aboard and we really started pushing out reviews. — more

‘Flatliners’ to get a remake. Personally I am OK with this one, loved the original but the story could use a retelling.

Martin Scorsese To Direct Remake Of James Caan’s ‘The Gambler,’ and guess who will star… Leonardo DiCaprio.. shocker.

Trailer: The Rum Diary

HST is a hero of mine, and ‘The Rum Diary’ is a brilliant work. Hunter wrote the semi-autobiographical work of fiction when he was quite young. But it’s still chock full of hard-drinking, drugs, guns and wit found in his later writing. It feels like I have been waiting for this movie for a long time. The trailer isn’t blowing me away, but I have a strong feeling. it’ll work better when it’s all tied up together. Anyway, hit the jump to let the debauchery begin. — more

Polanski’s latest features a slew of talent: John C. Reilly, Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster & Kate Winslet star as couples meeting to discuss a schoolyard fight between their children. The trailer reminds me of one of my all time favorites, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. The Winslet freak-out looks like it’ll be an instant classic. Hit the jump for the trailer. — more

18 years too late. But good luck to the West Memphis Three out in the world that was stolen from them. I am not sure why they had to plead guilty, probably so they can’t sue the state and get money they deserve for having more than half their lives sucked into a dark hole. Here is a quick trailer for the third documentary in the ‘Paradise Lost’ series. Which if you haven’t seen, you must watch tonight. — more
