Bret Easton Ellis Returns!

Novelist Bret Easton Ellis has quite a distinguished body of work. Most people know him for American Psycho and the movie based on that novel starring Christian Bale, but also amongst his works are Less Than Zero, The Rules of Attraction (both of which also spawned feature films), as well as Glamorama and Lunar Park.

I saw Mr. Ellis speak in Chicago a few years ago when Lunar Park was released and at the time he teased that he had started work on a sequel to his first novel, Less Than Zero, and that it would reconnect with those characters thirty years later in a contemporary setting.

Titled Imperial Bedrooms (named after an Elvis Costello song, as was Less Than Zero) it is finally completed and being released next month. Early word is extremely positive, and after reading this excerpt I’m wildly looking forward to it.

Also adding to the excitement is this in-depth interview with Mr. Ellis from Vice Magazine.
