Launch Party: Quarantined!

Quarantined

If you regularly follow Nerdy Nothings, you’ll know that we’re proud Chicagoans to the core. Part of that means that we embrace our city’s rich artistic community. Image Comics author Michael Moreci’s giving us a chance to do just that this weekend with a North Side launch party of his original graphic novel Quarantined.

Quarantined tells the story of a small town in Upper Peninsula Michigan that’s been infected with a zombie plague. The surviving human citizens have to contend with flesh-eating killers, mounting paranoia and the very real possibility that they’ll never escape their cordoned-off UP island. Combining elements of popular titles like Walking Dead and DMZ, Moreci and artist Monty Borror aim for a deeply psychological horror, mixed with some good old blood-and-guts action. You can check out a digital preview here!

April 9-10th – Mike Moreci’s Quarantined coming out 2 day party!
Friday: 5-8pm

The Comic Vault has this to say about this weekend’s release party: Come down and celebrate this youthful gentleman’s bid into the literary world of comics. Mr. Moreci has fought the fight that many young writers have fought, TO GET PUBLISHED! Now comes the even tougher part of finding dancing partners for his book Quarantined. The Comic Vault member base has come out in force to support local creators and here is yet another oppurtunity to extend that support. Plus, Mike’s wife is one of the best bakers in the city! Mike won’t be upset if there are cup cake crumbs on the book he is signing.
