Marvel Announces X-Men Day

Marvel Comics has announced July 8th as “X-Men” day in celebration of the release of their new on-going series with X-Men #1. In addition to the various variant covers that will be available to retailers Marvel will be providing prints, mini-posters and party invitations.

Artists for the various covers include Olivier Coipel (fresh off his run on Siege), John Romita Jr. (currently at work on Avengers), Adi Granov (who I believe will be the regular cover artist and whose cover is pictured here), Marko Djurdjevic, and Paco Medina who also pencils the issue.

This new X-Men series is supposed to tie more directly into the Marvel Universe at large and define the X-Mens place in this new “Age of Heroes.” I can’t say that I’m too excited about the creative team on-board so far, or that the first story-arc will involve vampires, but it is the X-Men and I will most certainly be giving the series a shot.
