Stream the New Foo Fighters

on April 01, 2011

Hit the jump to stream the new Foo Fighters album ‘Wasting Light’. The first song, all i have gotten through, is really kick ass, very heavy. I have been looking forward to this one when I started hearing trickles of gossip that it was going to be really raucous and loud. So far the rumors are true. — more

Too Cool: Hunter S Thompson Interviews Keith Richards

on March 25, 2011

After the jump check out a classic interview, it’s from 1993 and looks absolutely antique… It’s priceless documentation of two authentically mad characters of our time. This is great stuff, but i’d kill for a transcript of the chat that took place off camera. — more

Wow… it’s not often that a song floors me so hard on the first listen, but this is definitely one of those. This debut single from UK band the Vaccines definitely makes their upcoming debut album something to keep an eye out for. This song wastes no time in getting to the hooks.

Do you like Vampire Weekend? You probably do. That’s because they are a pretty kick-ass band and they exude summer warmness. They make breezy, rent a car with no top kinda music. And I bet you folks on the east coast could use some summer vibes about now. So how about you check out Brooklyn’s own Beach Fossils, these guys are blowing me away with their similar but better tropical lo-fi. Warm up with the song vacation after the jump. — more

New J Mascis Song – Not Enough

on December 10, 2010

Dinosaur Jr. is a band i’ve been following for pretty much half my life. In high school Green Mind was the soundtrack to just about everything I did. J’s croaky vox accompanied me and my gray Audi 5000 diesel just about everywhere. I never got sick of his charming, geekish lyrics, chunky guitar and ripping, absolutely ripping guitar solos. J has once again cut the electricity and gone acoustic. His new solo effort form Sub Pop, Several Shades of Why, drops March 15. Stream the first track above and let me know what you think in the comments.
