First there was Swingers and then Go, Doug Liman was one of the directors whose new work I anticipated. When I heard he was doing Bourne Identity, it sounded like a mismatch. Clearly, it wasn’t. He should have seen the Bourne trilogy through its completion but chose instead to work on a couple of turds in Mr and Mrs Smith and Jumper. Now he’s taking on the true story of outed CIA agent Valerie Plame. This is a fascinating story but the trailer looks a little cookie cutter. Hopefully, they stick to the facts and Liman is more Bourne than Smith this time around.
