Todd Solondz‘s films have never disappointed me. They have shocked, revolted, broke me up into hysterical fits of laughter, but never let me down. If you’ve seen Happiness you know exactly what i am talking about. I’ve been following his career since the brutally funny and harsh portrait of life as an suburban, teenage outsider in Welcome to the Dollhouse. I might have been one of the only people who shouted at the screen during As Good As It Gets, “That’s Todd Solondz,” when he showed up on a bus in a small cameo. From what i’ve heard, Life During Wartime is a new story with the characters from Happiness. Whatever you think of the trailer, I guarantee the movie will surprise you in ways you never expected. They always do.
