Nerdy Nothings and the Nerdologues — two great tastes that go great together. We’ve pimped the Nerdologues comedy troupe a time or two on our site before, like when they were awesome guests on our podcast a few months ago. Once again, those hilarious geeks are putting on a show powered by you, the nerds in the audience, and this time our blog is co-sponsoring the event! Get ready once again for YOUR STORIES.
Dig this: this Sunday, August 21, 8:00 PM at the Pub Theater, the Nerdologues will again be turning their microphones over to audience members to share stories about their own experiences with the less-than-cool. Some tales will be funny, some will be serious, and all will be great. As with shows past, this bad boy is FREE and any are welcome to participate. Unlike shows past, this time my own band (Take Cover) will be providing some rock ambience in-house (in an unplugged capacity) and I myself will be emceeing the event. If you want to read a story, post about it on the Facebook event page or contact one of the administrators (like me!). Stories should be around 3-5 minutes in length and don’t really have any content restrictions.
BONUS: If you feel like showing up early, you can get to the Pub Theater as soon as 5:00 PM and enjoy some games with Nerdologues cast members, or even bring your own to be played. Have fun, grab a beer, hang out and get to know each other… challenge those stereotypes!
When: Sunday, August 21 @ 8:00 – Pregame (literally) @ 5:00
What: The Nerdologues/Nerdy Nothings Presents Your Stories
Where: The Pub Theater, upstairs of Fizz Bar
3220 N Lincoln Ave (at the intersection of Lincoln and Belmont)
Who: YOU! And us, too.
Why: Because what else are you going to do on a Sunday night? Also, it’s FREE!
RSVP on the Facebook event page or just show up Sunday… and get ready for a good time.

After being inspired by some friends, for the past few years I’ve been really into documenting my musical exploration with year-end mixes. I realize this is not a particularly novel thing to do, but hey, who has original ideas any more? Anyway, this has gotten even easier to do thanks to new technology like Spotify. read more
